Helen Georgas is a Greek Canadian American writer and librarian based in Brooklyn, New York. Her manuscript of linked stories, Inventory, was named runner-up for the 2025 Grace Paley Prize and longlisted for the 2025 W. S. Porter Prize.
Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Prairie Fire, The Writer’s Chronicle, The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and elsewhere. She was an editor of the digital arts platform Underwater New York and literary co-editor of Silent Beaches, Untold Stories: New York City’s Forgotten Waterfront (Damiani).
She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and has been awarded residencies at A-Z West, South Porch Artists Residency, Writers House, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, The Hambidge Center, and Dorland Mountain Arts.
